HOUSTON, Texas -- Joel Swift was taken into police custody last night by officers responding to a disturbance call at Swifty's Lesbian Lounge.

According to an anonymous source at the department, detectives questioned Swift for two hours about the events at the Lounge, as well as a seemingly unrelated case concerning slaughtered 'Peeps'. Police have been working the Peeps case for years, but until Swift's arrest tonight, the trail was thought to have gone cold.

Swift was suddenly released after two hours of interrogation, although police chief Clarence Bradford (search) offered only the cryptic comment "The Department no longer considers it in the public interest to further detain Mr. Swift." Accordingly, no charges are expected to be filed.

Calls to Swift's attorney were not immediately returned.

Classic. I've said it before but the "(search)" is, simply put, the icing on the cake. Kudos.
